Talari Mountain Lodge has nine rooms. They have private bathroom with solar heated water, a small fridge, table and chairs, fans and a terrace with views on the Talamanca mountain range and the forest. Some can accomodate up to four people. All rooms together, about twenty people can find a comfortable place for the night.
The restaurant, a little bit uphill, offers a breath-taking panorama on the river valley and the hills and mountains in the background. Food is excellent, wine from Chile, beer from Belgium. Homemade : bread, milk, juices, marmalade, desserts and ice cream. And sometimes on the programme : live piano music. The swimming-pool area is the point by excellence for relaxation and refreshment and the little ones surely will enjoy the kid´s pool. You can try some sport at the basketball court and look around the property along the 2 km of well marked trails.
The property measures almost 20 acres and can be divided roughly in three parts: the plain near the river border with yellow marked trails, the secumdary forest with white marked trails and the reforested area with red marks. The first impact: the unlimited tints of green, the abundance of flowers, the songs of the birds. The striking thing : diversity of nature on such a small area. With the years birds became the main attraction of Talari Mountain Lodge. More than 200 species have been spotted so far on the property. That's not so bad for such a small piece of land. All fruit and flowers and all different habitats make Talari the place to be for birds. In a special page, we tell you more about bird-watching at Talari Mountain Lodge.

Chirripo Information
Chirripó National Park is located in the heart of the Talamanca Mountain Range, which was formed by a variety of geologic processes, including tectonic movement and volcanic activity. The formation began in the Superior Eocene epoch of the Tertiary period of the Cenozoic Era and concluded during the Inferior Meocene epoch, approximately 58 million years ago. More recently, the Talamanca Mountain Range also experienced glacial activity during the Pleistocene Epoch. |
